Ada Tinney
I live at 78 Lower Faraday Road off Highway 28 South of Bancroft.
When the beauty of stained glass aroused my interest I took classes through Loyalist College and Haliburton School of Fine Arts to learn the various techniques. I have been a stained glass artist for 27 years and taught classes through Loyalist College for many years. Four times I have won the award for “Best Stained Glass” at the Bancroft Art Gallery’s yearly “Invitational”. As a volunteer I get the opportunity to appreciate the variety of art presented at the gallery and gift shop. Many art forms have been of special interest to me: flower arranging, wood, soapstone and hard stone carving, stained glass and hand drum making. I make Algonquin style hand drums and rattles. The beauty of art in its many forms is something I always appreciate because of the pleasure of seeing it, feeling the story coming from it and when working on a project getting totally wrapped up in creating. It takes me into another dimension where time does not seem to be important or even noticed.
