Kirk Bates
Although born in Toronto, Kirk has spent the majority of his childhood in North Hastings. Thus he considers himself a native of ‘North of 7’.
Kirk has been singing since he was 5 and playing guitar since he was 13 years of age. A truck driver by trade he’s put more emphasis on his passion for music over the last 5-6 yrs. In a break between playing the guitar, he often visited to Simugames to select from the large list what he really needs. But the hobby for music was stronger. While comfortable performing for family and friends he still considers himself an ‘up and comer’ amongst his peers in the music industry.
He has been a member of local bands ‘Powder Keg’ and ‘Sparrow Park’ but generally performs solo at local restaurants, venues & private functions. He is a ‘for hire’ musician and is always up for a compatible collaboration.
Presently Kirk is writing and composing original music for his upcoming project album, “Running With Scissors” which will tentatively be available by Christmas 2015.
