The Algonquin Arts Council contributes to the vibrancy, quality and economic life of our communities by advocating for, developing and coordinating the impact of our artists and cultural organizations.

Vision Statement
Our work has positioned North Hastings as a magnetic arts destination
on Canada’s cultural map. Here, artists and cultural groups are celebrated
and fully supported by the community, its businesses and local governments.

Focus Areas We do this by:

• Supporting the programs, activities and initiatives of AAC Contributing Member Arts Groups
• Promoting the benefits and importance of the arts – to generate investment (time, treasury and talent)
• Investing in capacity building to help arts organizations reach for their potential, nurture resilience and ensure sustainability
• Supporting the development of individual artists (professional, emerging and exploring)
• Increasing participation – artist and audience development with inclusion as a priority
• Advocating for the arts, artists and art organizations – in general and related to specific issues that affect all
• Finding and supporting opportunities for collaboration – when together is better.
