The North Hastings Music Festival provides an enriching musical education experience for amateur musicians in Bancroft and the surrounding area.  Throughout its 66-year history, the NHMF has had many participants pursue further music studies and professional music careers. These include, music teachers, touring performers, soloists, band members, private music instructors, a military musician, actors, and more.

The NHMF is also pleased to welcome former participants as adjudicators. Julie Fitzgerald, Hannah Crawford, Ryan Browne, Tom Fitzgerald, and Caitlin O’Connor, professional musicians and NHMF alumni, have returned to their roots, bringing decades of their musical expertise to the next generation of musicians.

As participants perform and receive constructive feedback they develop the skills that contribute to a vibrant community music scene. This, in turn, benefits the community by providing recreation and entertainment activities for local community members and for tourists who visit the popular destination town.
